Siendo el dueño de tu perro estás a cargo de su bienestar, y tu mascota lo sabes. Sin embargo, no solo porque tú provees su comida se pone tan contento al verte, como podría creerse. En realidad, ha sido comprobado cómo los perros son capaces de sentir amor; también ha sido probado recientemente cómo los perros de alguna manera te ven como parte de su familia.
Siendo descendientes de los lobos, en el estudio de los perros, muchas veces estos primeros son el referente más cercano para estudiar a tu mascota, y quizá la característica más importante que diferencia a estas especies en su relación con los
humanos es su capacidad social. Aunque parezca inverosímil, los lobos temen mucho más a los humanos, por ello son menos capaces de convivir con ellos. Por su parte, los perros sienten una afinidad con nuestra especie.
En un interesante artículo de io9, distintos expertos explican cómo es que los perros tienen la capacidad de diferenciar a los humanos de su propia raza; y también, las reacciones neuronales de los mismos son muy similares a las que experimentan cuando ven a a algún miembro de su familia.
Es decir, los perros no solo conocen que somos distintos de ellos, sino que, en esa diferencia, experimentan un apego más allá del de la pura supervivencia con nosotros.
Cuando sales de casa tu perro vive una falta de tu compañía y la resiente como si tuviese memoria emocional al momento de verte; algo así como lo que nos pasa a los humanos cuando vemos a un ser querido. Es por ello, que además de asociar tu presencia con actividades de recompensa, como comer o un paseo, tu perro se pone tan exquisitamente feliz al verte.
